CREW!

Crew

"Big Pete"/ "Colonel Carr"/ "El Capitan"

Owns the boat.  Pretty much what he says goes.   Retired Army.  This is Big Pete's first boat over 20 feet long, even though he's raced for decades on lots of different boats.    An expert on aerodynamics, nuclear weapons, business management, helicopter landings in hot LZ's, and  a fine woodworker, Big Pete is the one we all default to with questions on the boat or about national security. Lives in Gig Harbor.  Shown on the first day of ownership, at the docks, 2007.

Big Pete

"Little Peter"/ "PK"/ "Doctor Petie"/ "Slave #1"

THINKS he owns the boat.   The rich boat owner's son, and the risk taker on the race course.   Occasionally drives and maintains the boat.  Grew up sailing thanks to Big Pete and has a Flying Dutchman, co-owned with Conner, named "I Don't Know".  Raced mostly on Rick Ranta's Santana 27, Shogun, been on lots of others.  Father of Conner Carr, "The Inheritor", married to Martha, "Boat Maiden #1".   Lives in Bellevue.  Shown Duck Dodge racing with Big Pete on Lake Union in an International 14 on Lake Union, 2007.

Dr. Peter Carr

"REDIGER"/ "The MIKE"/ "Crazy Mike"/ "Slave #2"

Hired gun for the boat.  Pulls ropes, grinds winches, maintains boat sanity, via various psychological methods, primarily ethanol prescriptions.  Mike has raced on many boats, mostly J-24's.  He lives in Magnolia.  Shown in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, during a surfing/ sailing/ diving vacation, 2007.

Conner Carr/ "con Man"/ "The Inheritor"/ "The Golden Child"

Destined to become the inheritor of it all, Conner keeps us young and worried that something may happen to the golden child.   Has sailed on Shogun since near birth, and will be crew on dad's boats.  Son of Doctor Petie.  Shown catching his first fish in Gig Harbor, Washington in 2007.

Conner

Martha/ "Little Martha"/ "Boat Maiden #1" / "Rosalita"

The style manager on board, Martha dictates social norms and ensures that crew is happy.   Watcher and mother of Conner Carr, the "Inheritor" , as shown below.  While it may not be apparent immediately, WHATEVER MARTHA SAYS GOES ON THE BOAT.   Not safe?  Martha will let us know.  Not enough mayonnaise?  Martha will determine this.  Not having fun?  Martha will fix it.

June/ "June-Bug" / "Whipplemeister"/ "Whippinator"

June is an architect-turned hippie who has earned the right to be on the A team solely out of devotional duty.   Other than knowing she has a heart of gold, June-ster is more of an enigma than all the other crew, and has lots of talents as yet untapped by the trusty/ crusty boat crew. June lives just blocks from the boat.  Shown with her friend, Andrea, on a chilly Goosebumps Duck Dodge race, 2008.

Pamm/ "Pammmmmmmmmmm"/ "Spammmmm Sandwich"

Pamm joined the crew early on, and like some nocturnal animal is difficult to find photographs of!  She has wrangled the titles of "official sandwich maker" and "social etiquette coordinator" on board.  Pamm lives in Gig Harbor and has sailed on numerous big boats, notably a Santa Cruz 50 back in the 70's and 80's... NO... 1970's and 1980's!  Shown here on --- a motorboat?  Maybe that's a REALLY FAST SAILBOAT.

Stacey/ "Spacey"/  "Dancing Queen" / Rookie

Stacey joined the crew of Legacy and has been there at all the Duck Dodges this year.  Having never really raced before, she is working towards becoming the receiver of the coveted inaugural "ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD".  Shown here at Mardi Gras night, 2008.
